Our Work

Policy & Law Reform

The Australian Centre for International Justice is committed to policy and law reform advocacy that is informed by the experiences and needs of our clients. Our current focus is intended to strengthen Australia’s investigative capacity and we are actively calling for:

  • the establishment of a permanent war crimes investigations unit in the form of a Specialist Investigations Unit with expert and trained investigators and dedicated resources tasked with investigating international crimes
  • the establishment of a task force of international criminal law experts to report to the Federal Government on the sufficiency of the current legislation to examine current legislative gaps and propose a legislative remedy
